The Niagara Youth Marines Cadets Inc. (NYMC) is a New York State Incorporated 501(c)3 non-profit youth organization committed to helping prevent drug abuse, encourage higher education, and combat gang influence among young men and women by providing a positive, motivating and mentoring youth and adult force through applying a USMC military approach to foster discipline and confidence. The aim is youth helping youth; using positive peer pressure to achieve the goals to live a productive life, and to help improve the quality of life in their community. The Niagara Youth Marine Cadets Inc. (NYMC) is not a government organization and receive no financial support for operations from the United States Marine Corps. Essential programs and services are funded by gifts from individuals and organizations and proceeds from unit fundraisers. NYMC offers instruction in military grooming and development such as drill and ceremony, customs, courtesies, uniformity, rank structure, chain of command, and physical training and conditioning to youths between the ages of 10 to 19 years of age. Other activities include field trips, indoor rock climbing, camping, hiking, paintball, fundraising, parades, ceremonies and community events.
All our adult staff undergo background checks and been certified in Youth Protection Guidelines as set forth by the National Council of the BSA.
To enlist, you must be a US Citizen, at least 10 years of age (at graduation of boot camp), must not have reached your 20th birthday, currently enrolled in school, crime-free, drug free, physically fit and be willing to work hard. Enlistments are for minimum of one year and we encourage all youths to stay active in our unit long term, move up the ranks, and help develop the incoming recruits. Weekly drills are held Saturdays 3:30 to 8 pm at
9750 Niagara Falls Blvd. (First Assembly of God Church), Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
We are not a religion based program and membership to this or another church does not affect enlistment into our program
